Women farmers sensitisation training workshop

Sensitisation on the component “Watershed Management Development” of PIWAMP with special emphasis on Women Farmers in North Bank Division from 26th Oct. to 7th Nov. 2006

The Project Management Unit of PIWAMP contracts Department of Community Development to take responsibility for all sensitisation activities in close collaboration with the general extension and other important stakeholders.

Therefore the community mobilisation Officer for PIWAMP project, together with his team that includes an officer from the DCD, ACD personnel, SMS conservation in the area who also represent the Department of Agricultural Services, and other important stakeholders in the NBD intervention area are doing the training.

The training is to sensitise the farming community about PIWAMP’s plan activities for them and what its intends are for their communities. Emphasis is always on gender since they are the less fortunate or less privilege especially with uplands.

At every training or meetings conducted by the project emphasis is put on gender balance in attendance. The project always asked for at least 50per cent of total attendance to be female.
