The rural poor and particularly women are the main targets of IFAD interventions in Africa. Its Action Plan 2003-2006 defines how to achieve the principles and objectives of IFAD strategic Framework for 2002-2006 related to gender mainstreaming and women’s empowerment
In this context, the Division of Western and Central Africa organizes from July 31 to August 4, 2006 in Brazzaville, Congo, the sixth training workshop on Socio-economic and Gender Analysis (SEAGA)
This workshop will focus on the concept of gender, the participatory methods, the approaches of the SEAGA and its implementation in the context of IFAD funded-projects.
The aim of this training is to better take into account gender issues in IFAD projects design and implementation for a greater effectiveness of their actions toward the reduction of poverty in rural poor communities.
Staff of IFAD funded-project in Central Africa (Cameroon, Congo, DRC, and Sao Tome & Principe) as well as experts coming from FAO, IFAD and UNOPS will attend this important event.
