REP 2 - Component 1 - Business Development Services
The Business Development Services Component essentially covers the improvement of technical skills and management capability of rural micro and small scale entrepreneurs for sustained development and growth of small business ventures.
The component focuses on the provision of training in small business management and community-based skills for rural micro- and small-scale entrepreneurs.The district-based Business Advisory Centres (BACs)facilitate the delivery of services to clients. The BDS component aims at improving the technical skills and strengthening the management capabilities of micro- and small-scale entrepreneurs in participating districts to enable them manage their businesses prudently and profitably.
This component encompasses the following cluster of activities:
- Literacy and Numeracy Training
- Business Orientation Seminars
- Community-based Trade SkillsTraining
- Management Training and Business Counselling
- Marketing
- Training for Traders
- Information and Referral Services
Main Activities
- Organising start-up workshops in newly enrolled project districts;
- Establishing Business Advisory Centres in new participating districts;
- Undertaking orientationn training for staff of BACs and members of District Implementation Committees in new districts;
- Conduct of Business Opportunities Identification Surveys in new participating districts;
- Carrying out business orientation seminars;
- Organising information dissemination seminars;
- Delivery of community based skills training to project clients;
- Providing business counseling; and
- Organisation of Clients’ Exhibition and Trade Show.
