The Université d’Abobo-Adjamé (UAA), the Centre Suisse de Recherches Scientifiques en Côte d’Ivoire (CSRS), the Centre National de Recherche Agronomique (CNRA), and the Société Ivoirienne de Technologie Tropicale (I2T) organized an International Workshop on the Potential of Cassava Processing in West Africa, June 4-7, 2007, Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire.
This workshop was an opportunity for presenting results, sharing experiences and finding new partners in West Africa and from other areas. The target was to render West African cassava products more competitive on the national and international market by identifying some strategies for small scale and industrial valorisation of cassava utilizations.
This workshop was aimed at:
Presenting the needs of the market and the expectations of consumers for cassava based products,
Reporting the progress of the research and development of food and nonfood processing of cassava in West Africa,
Share the experiences of the research and development with small-scale and industrial processors, the decision-makers and development agencies.
